The sun going to bed in a cradle

It's time to bring the curtains down!

I started this blog with an intention to post a pic every Friday in 2015, a total of 52 pics. In the 52 weeks I have worked on this blog I have rediscovered the joy of photography and post-photography editing. There have been days when I have had to beat boredom and click and post pics, but in the end it has been worth it.

This choice of this pic, I feel, is apt to bring an end to this blog. I had started this blog with a pic of an early morning sunrise and I'm ending it with a pic of a sunset. A complete circle.

I thank everyone who has been a part of this journey all the best. May you find love, success and peace everywhere you go.

Harbour Bridge, Sydney

One should stand in front of the Harbour Bridge in Sydney to understand its enormity. Constructed in 9 years between 1923 and 1932, it carries 8 road lanes, 2 rail tracks, 1 pedestrian way and 1 cycleway.

The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, and Australia. The bridge is nicknamed "The Coathanger" because of its arch-based design or is simply called "the Bridge" by Sydney residents.

Opera House, Sydney

The Opera House in Sydney, Australia is one of the 20th century's most distinctive buildings and a sight to behold. Built right on the harbour, the white shells shine with all their might on a bright and sunny day with the blue waters left to add a mystical hue.

Formally opened on 20 October 1973, the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007.

Enlightenment at The Speaking Tree

Encountered this tree at one of the malls I was shopping in. It was like I had attained nirvana. A white, glowing tree right at the far end of the mall was like the final destination of one's prayers, sacrifice and meditation.

Petals of Fire, Mumbai

Found these flowers one day on my way to office. They seemed like striking a graceful dance pose after a ballet routine filled with emotions. I do not know the exact name of this flower but is a lovely one to have in the garden. Clicked on a Lumia 920.

Getting candid with Tripsy

This is one of my favourite pics with my pet dog, Tripsy. Tripsy is unlike other canines. She doesn't eat fried food, is very selective about whom she'll bark at and depending on her mood be loving or aloof. Inspite of us giving her a warm place to sleep she chooses to rest having our car as the roof over her head. And yes, she doesn't like any visitors. Clicked on a Lumia 920

Sloping Mangalore tiled roofing at Bandra Railway Station

The charm of the Bandra Railway station is in its station building and canopy. Sloping Mangalore tiled roofing, spacious layout and Grecian facade add to the beauty. It was announced recently that the Railways and UNESCO would revamp the station as a Heritage Landmark.

If you watch closely, there is bird perched on the top most tower. Clicked on a Lumia 920.

Not just another brick in the wall, Houses of Goa, Goa

If anyone thought a wall could only be built by bricks he/she is wrong. Go ask an alcoholic and he/she will tell you why. Houses of Goa, Goa is a fine example. Clicked on a Lumia 920.

When the skies turned Pink, Mumbai

September is known as the month of beautiful skies. On 6th September, 2015 around 6 PM, the skies turned into a hue of pink, forcing me to capture this pic from my balcony even though the scaffolding was in the way. Clicked on a Lumia 920.

Peek into the Underworld, Goa

This is actually a drain which got covered with tar while it was being relaid. During the monsoon tiny vegetation came popping out through the slits as if wanting to be clicked. Clicked on a Nokia N8.

I don't like cricket, I love it

Who knew that a simple blade of wood and a ball could have the power to rock stadiums and captivate hearts and minds? That's what cricket does to a billion people - Nelton D'Souza.

Towards a single point

The Sydney Harbour Bridge offers amazing perspectives to a photographer. The arc of the bridge, the railing and the frame with their individual shadows bring to life the uniqueness of the structure not seen by many.

Steps to the top, Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout, Australia

The same set of stairs go up and also go down. It depends how you look at it. I choose to look at them going up, because it's better to look up rather than down. It gives life a meaning and purpose.

At the doorstep of the mighty ocean

The walkway at Bondi beach, Sydney is a wonderful place for an evening stroll or jog. As you walk along towards Coogee you will meet stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools.

The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk is a medium grade walk but there are some steep gradient paths and several staircases along the track. There are rest stops with great views and seating along the Bondi to Coogee walk. It takes about two hours to complete the Bondi to Coogee Beach section of the walk and another hour and a half if you choose to continue to Maroubra.

"Bondi" or "Boondi" (pronounced Bon-die) is an Aboriginal word meaning water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks.

 Blooming Chandeliers, T2, CSIA, Mumbai

Clicked this just before my 6 AM flight to Goa. It was my first time at T2, and like everyone else I felt proud to be an Indian.

A wasp nest shaped as a droplet, Goa

A wasp nest shaped as a droplet, Goa. Clicked on a Lumia 920.

From Wikipedia - A wasp is any insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that is neither a bee nor an ant. This means that wasps are paraphyletic with respect to bees and ants, and that all three groups are descended from a common ancestor; the Apocrita form a clade.

Walk in the woods, Goa

Walk in the woods, Goa.
Rains have something wonderful about them. The petrichor, the freshness they bring and the bright green carpet spread make them very special. This is a pic just after a shower, showing a few rays of light kissing the wet tarmac. Clicked on a N8.

Burning Page

Though it may seem like a page is burning it is not. I was reading a book while travelling on the Jogeshwari – Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). While at a signal, under a streetlight, I clicked a random shot of the book. The dark patch is nothing but my shadow and the flame a blur of the focus. Clicked on a Nokia N8.

The Long Wait

It's hard to wait around for something you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up when you think it's everything you want!
